Walgreens was founded in 1901 in Chicago, Il, after Charles R. Walgreen Sr. purchase the drugstore where he worked as a pharmacist. Walgreen began his own line of drug products to ensure the best possible quality with low prices. Today, Walgreens is the second largest pharmacy retail chain in the United States. The chain specializes in health and wellness products, health information, and prescription fills.   

DeWitt Walgreens is a 13,000 SF drive-thru pharmacy on Old U.S. 27 at the former site of Pet Health Center. H2A Architects designed the new storefront and WIELAND began construction in 2016.  The project was completed in July 2017.
