The Shreveport Aquarium is home to 300 species and over 1,000 animals including sharks, stingrays, eels, and more. Visitors can view ocean life by traveling through brightly colored coral reefs, shipwrecks, dark ocean caves and tropical lagoons. Planet Aqua Group owns the new aquarium and was founded as an extension from Merlin Entertainment, the founders of Sea World, in order to reach smaller markets.

The Shreveport Aquarium was designed by Kevin Bryan Architects, a firm based out of Shreveport, LA. The aquarium spans 22,200 SF and is housed in the former historic Barnwell Center.

WIELAND began construction on the aquarium in January 2017 and completed the project in May of the same year.
