#TBT: WIELAND is pleased to show the completion of three Auto-Owners’ projects. The office in Lake Elmo, MN, spans 30,000 SF and was completed in October 2016. Auto-Owners then contracted WIELAND to build a second project in Lakeland, FL. The new 46,220 SF office was completed in February 2020, to serve the Central Florida region. Finally, WIELAND upgraded the HVAC system at the Auto-Owners’ Headquarters in Lansing, MI, completing the construction in August 2022. #WIELANDbuilds
WIELAND is excited to announce completion of the steel structure on the second phase of Magna M.E.V.S facility in St. Clair, MI. The addition is a massive 744,000 SF structure consisting of 1,200 tons of steel, 1,152 bar joints and 287 columns. WIELAND completed construction on the 370,000 SF phase I building in January 2022 and completion of the phase II facility is scheduled for early 2024.
WIELAND was proud to attend and support the Shreveport – Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 15th. The evening’s theme was “The Power of Collaboration.” During the event, businesses and sponsors who partnered with the Chamber throughout the year were recognized for helping achieve milestones set by the organization. Awards were also given to individuals and businesses whose work has positively impacted the community. WIELAND is thrilled to announce the start of construction on The Learning Tree Child Care Center in Lyon City, Michigan. This is the sixth Learning Tree location in Michigan and second in South Lyon. The new 14,720 SF building will be able to house as many as 200 children. The project is scheduled to be completed in November 2023. #WIELANDbuilds
WIELAND’s Culture Club began planting a new garden outside the home office in Lansing, Michigan. The Club built three raised garden beds and planted both vegetables and herbs, some of which include, tomatoes, cucumbers, hot peppers, mint, and cilantro, among others. WIELAND is proud to be breaking ground on the Play Michigan playground in Lansing, Michigan. WIELAND is working with the Community Foundation to provide the city of Lansing with a state-of-the-art playground. The park is the first of its kind in Michigan, catering to all children, including those with physical and sensory needs. The universally accessible playground spans 1.75 acres along Lansing’s Adado Riverfront Park. Construction began May 8, 2023, with a grand opening scheduled for September 2023. #WIELANDbuilds
WIELAND was thrilled to be the Premier Sponsor for the Trail Town 5k and 10k on Sat., June 3, benefitting the Friends of the Lansing Regional Trails (FLRT). Runners ran from Potter Park Zoo, through downtown Lansing, and towards Turner Dodge House. Eight runners from WIELAND participated, including the youngest participant, two-month-old Layla.
WIELAND is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Lorenz as Chief Executive Officer, effective June 1, 2023. Lorenz joined WIELAND in 2014 as a Senior Project Manager, and began his tenure by overseeing the construction of the Pratt Paper Mill in Valparaiso, IN. He became an equity partner in 2018 and was named Managing Director in 2020.

This past Christmas, WIELAND was invited to a Procore event in Lansing, MI. This event gathered local general contractors for a holiday happy hour and a project to help the local Salvation Army. While there, WIELAND employees broke into groups and built a bike to be delivered to some deserving children that Christmas. WIELAND would like to thank Procore (the best-in-class construction management software), and all employees who participated! #WIELANDbuilds
WIELAND is excited to share its progress on the City View project in downtown Lansing, MI. This two-building apartment project has a total 172 apartments. The former Lake Trust building is undergoing a complete renovation and will hold 55 units, and the new 503 sister building will hold the other 117. These apartments offer comfort, style, and convenience for tenants. WIELAND is working for Westpac Development to help bring these buildings to the Lansing area. This project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.

WIELAND is currently constructing a new frac sand plant for Performance Proppants in Shreveport, LA. Performance Proppants – a repeat client for WIELAND – has a unique process for collecting, sorting and cleaning sand. This project will include dredging an oxbow lake across the Red River from this 23-acre site. The dredge will be transported under the river and be processed on the Shreveport side. WIELAND started this project in March 2022 and is working with the owners and design team to be operational by the end of the year. #WIELANDbuilds
