WIELAND is proud to showcase the recently completed Learning Tree Child Care Center in Lyon City, Michigan. This is the sixth Learning Tree location in the state, and the new 14,720 SF building will accommodate up to 200 children. Construction began in October 2022 and was completed in the summer of 2023.

44th Annual Highfields Golf Outing
WIELAND once again served as a major sponsor for the 44th Annual Highfields Golf Outing, on June 3 at MSU’s Forest Akers Golf Course. Highfields helps change lives and strengthen communities for Mid-Michigan families. The WIELAND team posed with Highfields’ President and CEO Brian Philson on the 18th green and also served as the drink sponsor.

Last week, WIELAND‘s Orlando office came together at DriveShack in Lack Nona, FL, to kick off the summer season. This event offered a chance for everyone, from project managers to interns, to connect outside the office. The evening was filled with long drives and excellent company, making it the perfect way to start the summer.

May 28, 2024Sofidel Cookout
WIELAND‘s construction team on the Sofidel project did some “team-building” on May 22nd with a crawfish cookout close to the job site in Circleville, OH. Sofidel is a leading producer of tissue paper and operates five plants across the US. The project in Circleville kicked off this past February and could expand the plant by over 500,000 SF, positioning it as one of Sofidel’s pivotal plants worldwide.

WIELAND continues to kick off spring with its annual Louisiana office cookout. Employees gathered at the Shreveport office to enjoy a delicious fish fry and each other’s company. #TBT: In 2017, WIELAND proudly finished constructing the BHP YMCA in Shreveport, LA. This impressive facility boasts an Olympic-size, eight-lane pool utilized for swim meets, athlete training, and member recreating. Spanning 56,000 SF, the multi-purpose center offers a range of amenities including free-weight gyms, basketball courts, exercise studios, and outdoor spaces for activities like soccer and tee ball. WIELAND commenced the project in 2015, with the YMCA welcoming its first visitors in the spring of 2017.

May 14, 2024Consumers Credit Union
WIELAND is near completion on two locations for Consumers Credit Union. The first is located in Lansing Township and the second is in East Lansing. Each branch spans 2,217 SF and will provide comprehensive in-person financial support, accompanied by Consumers’ innovative TellerPlus+ technology, which extends service hours to better assist members. Additionally, both offices will feature amenities such as coffee bars, wireless banking stations, and dedicated areas for loans and member services.

#TBT: to March 2018, when WIELAND completed Phase II of the Marketplace Apartments in downtown Lansing for mid-Michigan developer The Gillespie Group. Located on Lansing’s Riverfront, Marketplace featured 79 apartment units amongst its 65,000 SF of retail and living space. WIELAND worked with Lansing-based Studio Intrigue Architects on this project.

WIELAND proudly shows the ongoing development at the Haven at Davenport in Davenport, FL. The complex consists of six four-story apartment buildings, offering 367 units, with one featuring an integrated clubhouse and amenity center for residents. Breaking ground in 2023, WIELAND is scheduled to complete the project next year.

WIELAND is continuing its work for the Diocese of Orlando, this time at St. James Catholic Church in downtown Orlando, FL. The project commenced last fall and spans 8,000 SF, focusing on the renovation of the Parish Hall meeting area alongside enhancements to the exterior courtyard. Anticipated completion is early fall 2024.

April 19, WIELAND team members participated in the Junior Achievement Girls Dream Fair at Trinity Church. This initiative nurtures young women interested in STEM careers by connecting them with experienced Lansing Businesswomen whose careers are in the STEM fields. These professionals delivered talks and shared valuable career advice with the students. WIELAND was proud to sponsor this event and provide volunteers to support its success.

April 23, 2024Central Florida NAIOP Luncheon
WIELAND was pleased to sponsor the Central Florida NAIOP luncheon on April 16th at the Citrus Club in downtown Orlando. At the luncheon, WIELAND Senior Business Development Manager Daniel Sprague introduced the speakers, one of who was Norman Farhat, WIELAND’s Director of Pre-Construction Services. Farhat joined three other industry experts to discuss the state of industrial real estate locally and nationally. NAIOP is the premier advocacy group for the commercial real estate industry, and the Central Florida chapter is one of the nation’s largest.

April 18, 2024Teal Jones Paper Mill
WIELAND is excited to share an update on the Teal Jones Sawmill project in Plain Dealing, LA. Spanning 138,000 SF of buildings on over 200 acres north of Shreveport, the Teal Jones mill is expected to produce approximately 300 million board feet of specialized lumber annually. Additionally, the residue from the boards, like chips and sawdust, will be sold to pulp and pellet plants. The project commenced in January 2022 and is on track for fall completion.
