Construction is progressing rapidly on the Sofidel project in Circleville, OH. Sofidel, a global tissue company headquartered in Italy, has invested $185M to expand its operations with a 500,000 SF addition. The original facility, which opened in 2018, experienced a surge in demand for Sofidel’s tissue products during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, leading to the need for expansion. WIELAND started construction in Q1 2024 and is expected to complete the 500,000 SF expansion in Q1 2025.

Join WIELAND in celebrating Olivia Brault’s well-deserved promotion! Since joining WIELAND in 2021 as an Assistant Project Manager, Olivia has shown incredible dedication and skill. She has recently been promoted to Project Manager, directing the Arq, Inc. facility expansion in Coushatta, LA. Congratulations, Olivia, and thank you for all your hard work!
Another day, another concrete pour in Louisiana! This time, the WIELAND team gathered for another early morning at the Arq, Inc. facility expansion in Coushatta, LA. Founded in 1997, ADA and Advanced Emissions Solutions (ADES) would later buy the Coushatta plant, which still is the largest and most automated carbon manufacturing facility in North America. In 2023, ADA acquired Arq and rebranded as Arq. Inc., a global leader in environmental technology and sustainability.
The foundation of the new facility totaled 1,090 yds of concrete, serving as the base for a 98-ton steel tower to be placed later. WIELAND began work on the project in January and is set to complete the facility in early 2025.
Teeing off and making connections – WIELAND proudly sponsored the 2024 Capital Area Manufacturing Council (CAMC) golf outing, where business meets the green! CAMC is dedicated to advancing the manufacturing sector in the Lansing area, offering networking opportunities, professional development, and advocacy for local manufacturers. Events like the annual golf outing help build these valuable connections and support industry growth in Lansing.
On Friday, August 9, WIELAND hosted its annual Bring-Your-Kid-to-Work-Day, filling the home office with excitement and joy. Employees’ children enjoyed a fun-filled day, featuring activities like cookie decorating and meeting Michigan State’s mascot, Sparty. They also got a hands-on glimpse into their parents’ work lives. The event was a wonderful opportunity to strengthen WIELAND’s family bonds, creating memories. We’re already looking forward to next year!
WIELAND has officially completed two Consumers Credit Union locations in Mid-Michigan. The first branch is off of US-127 on Lake Lansing Road, next to the Eastwood Towne Center. The second branch is situated on Grand River Avenue east of the Michigan State University campus. Each branch spans 2,217 SF and offers in-person financial support enhanced by TellerPlus+ technology, which extends service hours for better member assistance. Both branches broke ground in 2023 and were completed earlier this year.
WIELAND is proud to show its completed work in Kissimmee, FL, on the new facility for Illuminate Church. As a result of extreme growth, Illuminate purchased a 19-acre site in 2018, which would become the site of its new campus. The church includes a 600-seat sanctuary, classrooms, office space, and a youth room. WIELAND completed the work earlier this year and Illuminate celebrated with a grand opening service on April 4, 2024.
On July 11, employees gathered at WIELAND’s Lansing headquarters for the WIELAND Summer Cornhole Tournament, hosted by the WIELAND Culture Club. Participants enjoyed cornhole and a variety of refreshments. The Culture Club plans events and activities to build relationships and foster inclusivity across WIELAND’s three offices.
On Saturday, June 29th, WIELAND once again served as the Elite sponsor for the Trail Town 5k & 10k. The Trail Town is the premier 10k in Mid-Michigan and offers runners scenic views of The Lansing River Trail. Nearly 400 participants took part in the races, including six WIELAND employees, while other WIELAND employees volunteered. Their efforts helped raise funds to benefit the Friends of Lansing Regional Trails (FLRT) and support its ongoing mission to maintain a clean and safe trail system.

Dan brings 15-plus years of experience in the commercial banking industry. Mitch has over six years of experience in industrial business development. Trent, a former WIELAND intern in 2023, recently graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Welcome abroad, Dan, Mitch, and Trent!
