This past week, WIELAND celebrated Rob Dick’s 25th anniversary with the company. Rob began his journey with WIELAND on October 1, 1999, in the Construction Services division. Over the years, he has grown into his role as Superintendent, taking on high-profile projects such as the British Colonial Hilton (Nassau, Bahamas) Bowling Green Metalforming (KY), Newport Bay Marina (CA), Kamtek (AL), and currently, Magna Structures (TN). He now joins the ranks as the eighth current employee with over 25 years of service. Thank you, Rob, for your dedication and positive spirit. And thank you to his wife, Kelly, for “loaning” us Rob for important assignments!
WIELAND is building careers, one campus at a time! To engage and connect with the next generation of construction industry leaders, WIELAND participated in five career fairs this fall, visiting Michigan State University and Ferris State University in MI, Louisiana Tech and the University of Louisiana Monroe in LA, and the University of North Florida. Thank you to all the students who stopped by to learn about WIELAND and its projects. WIELAND is excited to meet its future interns!
On Friday, September 13, WIELAND employees from the Lansing office came together to celebrate a successful summer with a company golf outing. Held at the Portland Country Club, the day was filled with beautiful weather, great (okay, maybe good) rounds of golf, and opportunities to strengthen relationships. The 2024 winning team, consisting of Anthony, Dorothy, and Jerry, finished -10.

This week, National Construction Appreciation Week, we salute our employees, partners, and material suppliers who make it happen across the United States.
On September 9, WIELAND staged its Annual All-In-Fall-In (AIFI) event. During the AIFI, employees from all three offices and numerous job sites gathered in person and over Zoom to celebrate projects completed in the past 12 months. The event also provided an opportunity to celebrate personal milestones such as promotions, marriages, and babies. WIELAND is proud of its achievements in 2024 and looks forward to an exciting 2025!
WIELAND is proud to announce two well-deserved promotions: Julie Lucas has been promoted to Corporate Compliance Manager after serving as a Project Accountant since 2015. Her dedication to setting high standards has made her an integral part of WIELAND’s success, and she will use that same ability to audit WIELAND’s daily operations.
Tyler Buxton, formerly a Site Superintendent, has been named Project Manager. Tyler joined WIELAND in 2013 and has consistently shown strong leadership and dedication to both his team and the projects he oversees.

WIELAND is making significant progress on the Teal Jones Sawmill in Plain Dealing, LA. The mill, which will be housed within 138,000 SF of buildings on a 200+ acre site just north of Shreveport, was originally operational in Canada before being disassembled and transported by truck to LA. Once completed, the mill is projected to produce 300M board feet of specialized lumber annually. Additionally, the byproducts from the lumber will be sold to pulp and pellet plants. Construction began in January 2022, with completion anticipated this fall.

Construction is progressing rapidly on the Sofidel project in Circleville, OH. Sofidel, a global tissue company headquartered in Italy, has invested $185M to expand its operations with a 500,000 SF addition. The original facility, which opened in 2018, experienced a surge in demand for Sofidel’s tissue products during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, leading to the need for expansion. WIELAND started construction in Q1 2024 and is expected to complete the 500,000 SF expansion in Q1 2025.
