WIELAND is making progress in Traverse City, MI on the Breakwater project. The new build is a mixed-use development of 78 apartment units (28,000 SF), three retail/restaurant spaces (69,000 SF) and a parking structure (21,000 SF). The apartments will have a view of the Boardman River to the South and the Grand Traverse Bay to the North. The project is expected to be completed in May 2020.
WIELAND completed the SET SEG corporate headquarters in East Lansing, MI in October of 2019. The facility is a total of 32,000 SF and was designed by Lansing-based Studio Intrigue Architects, with project management services by Kramer Management Group. SET SEG provides insurance to K-12 schools in Michigan.
WIELAND has constructed numerous office buildings throughout its history. One of its more recent accomplishments is the new Regional Office for Auto-Owners Insurance in Lakeland, FL. This is WIELANDs fourth project for Auto-Owners, a new build totaling 37,000 SF. It is expected to be completed in January 2020.
WIELAND assisted in the development of an important asset in downtown Lansing, MI with the completion of Rotary Park on the Grand River. The park was completed in September 2019 and will provide dining areas, a sandy beach, a fireplace and a lighted forest. The park will help residents of the Lansing community interact and enjoy the local scenery.
WIELAND is underway in Camden, Arkansas on the Aerojet Rocketdyne project. The development is an Engineering, Manufacturing and Development facility totaling 17,000 SF. The building will allow for the development of large solid rocket motors and create more than 140 new jobs in the next three years in the Camden area. The project is expected to be completed in Spring 2020.
WIELAND and the Beach Company hosted students from the University of South Carolina at the Cardinal project in Forest Acres, SC on October 10th. The students came to the job site for a presentation on the project process, a tour of the project and a Q&A. WIELAND encourages its employees to share their experiences and help better the future of construction.
WIELAND’s focus is repeat clients, which has traditionally resulted in WIELAND following its clients across the country. As clients have expanded into different regions, so has WIELAND – opening five new offices in the last 13 years, starting with the Orlando and Shreveport offices in 2006. WIELAND continues work on the Mosaic at Oak Creek, a multi-family project in Bonita Springs, FL. The development has 273 garden style units with access to a public kayak launch into the Oak Creek. The project began in July 2018 and is expected to be completed April 2020.
WIELAND is making progress on the “Every Man a King” project in Shreveport, LA. The project consists of the renovation of the old Arlington Hotel into an event space and restaurant along with a courtyard and distillery on the same site. Construction is expected to be completed in Summer 2020.
WIELAND was given the Top Small Business Award by The Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce on September 26th, 2019 in Shreveport, LA. WIELAND was one of nine companies to be recognized based on real dollar expansion, community involvement and number of new jobs created. WIELAND opened its Shreveport office in 2006.
WIELAND reached a milestone September 22nd when the sitting President of the United States and the Prime Minister of Australia commemorated the opening of the Pratt Paper project in Wapakoneta, OH. WIELAND would like to congratulate Mr. Pratt, the Pratt Paper team and the WIELAND team on another successful build.
As multi-family construction projects continue to increase nation-wide, WIELAND has strategically secured such projects. A recent example is the Volaris development in Lansing, MI. The new build consists of four 4-story buildings holding 289 units total. The project began in April 2019 and is expected to be completed in Winter 2020.
Progress continues in Forest Acres, SC on The Cardinal and Cardinal Crossings project. The Cardinal is a multi-family project with 246 apartment units, 10 townhomes and a 5-story parking garage. The Cardinal Crossings consist of four retail buildings totaling 43,000 SF of leasable space. WIELAND started the project in June 2018 and is expected to be completed in March 2020.
WIELAND is helping improve the Greater Lansing community with the renovation of Oliver Towers into Capitol View Apartments. The building has been abandoned for 20 years and is finally going to be utilized as a multi-family facility again. The development will consist of 96 apartment units, retail space, three workout rooms and a courtyard. The projected is expected to be completed in November 2019.
WIELAND has added another multi-family project to its portfolio with the Parc at Wesley Chapel development in Wesley Chapel, FL. The multi-family facility includes 248 units, with a clubhouse, gym, pool area and pond all on 20 acres. The project began in November 2018 and is expected to be completed in May 2020.
