  Allen Neighborhood Center

  

  Allen Neighborhood Center (ANC) is a hub where Lansing Eastside neighbors access resources to improve their health, help with job opportunities, create a strong sense of belonging, and build a safe, sustainable, and thriving neighborhood. As the construction manager for ANC, WIELAND is well underway on the renovation of 1,700 SF of existing commercial space, and construction of a 31,000 SF, 3-story addition that will have a combination of commercial space and 21 residential units. The project is expected to be completed October 2021.

  WIELAND made ENR’s Top 400 Contractors in America

  

  WIELAND is pleased to announce that for the eighth time in nine years it has been named to the ENR Top 400 Contractors in America list. Engineering News Record (ENR) is the industry’s main trade journal and annually ranks general contractors based on work completed for the previous calendar year. WIELAND ranked #340 with volume of $258.5M in 2020. See this short video for highlights of the projects that helped WIELAND get there.

  Sparrow Medical Office

  

  WIELAND is putting the final touches on its first project for Sparrow Health Systems.  Sparrow is an integrated health care organization located in Mid-Michigan. This 11,500 SF project is a new Medical Office Building located in Portland, MI. The project began September 2020 and will be completed within the month.

  Beach Market

  

  The Beach Market located in downtown Charlotte (MI) has been a part of the community for almost 100 years. WIELAND was awarded the opportunity to renovate and revitalize the building as a farmers’ market. The project started this past winter and finished at the end of April.

  Magna Electric Vehicle Structures

  

  Magna is a global automotive supply company and is a repeat client for WIELAND. Magna’s most recent project is the Magna Electric Vehicle Structures (MEVS) automotive manufacturing plant in St. Clair, MI. WIELAND broke ground in November 2020 on the 345,000 SF structure which includes an electrocoating system that will be used to build complex battery enclosures for the all-new 2022 GMC Hummer EV. The project is expected to be completed January 2022.

  Grand Cypress Apartments

  

  WIELAND has multiple offices across the United States, one being in Orlando, FL. This creates opportunities all across the state of Florida, including Tampa. The Grand Cypress Apartment project is one such project, a multi-family development with 324 apartment units, nine buildings and a clubhouse. It is positioned on 18.12 acres and totals 358,000 SF. The project began in August 2020 and is expected to be completed in February 2022.

  United Facilities

  

  WIELAND’s Florida team is underway on a 66,000 SF expansion to a United Facilities (UF) warehouse in Orlando, Florida. WIELAND was there throughout the night to ensure the concrete mix design, placement technique, and floor finish were above industry standards and exceeded the client’s overall flatness/levelness requirements. UF is a national third-party logistics provider, and a repeat client for WIELAND, putting WIELAND’s mission of “finding and serving lifelong clients” into action. This is the first of two expansion projects underway for UF in Orlando, with another 80,000 SF tilt wall warehouse expansion in design.

  Volunteering at Renzi Education and Art Center

  

  WIELAND is dedicated to being a part of its local communities. The WIELAND Shreveport office volunteered to put together a greenhouse for the Renzi Education and Art Center (REAC) in Shreveport, LA. The REAC’s mission is to provide free, high-quality after-school academic and art classes and summer camp to K-12 youth in the Shreveport-Bossier area, so that all children have the opportunity to explore, learn, and create, under the guidance of professional teachers and artists. The greenhouse will be used as part of the programs offered to kids from low-income families to teach gardening skills and used to grow herbs and vegetables for the cooking classes.

  Allen Neighborhood Center

  

  Construction continues at the Allen Neighborhood Center in Lansing, Michigan where WIELAND is providing construction services for demolition, renovation and new construction. WIELAND recently received certificate of occupancy for the buildout of the Center’s new 1,600 square foot Accelerator Kitchen. The Accelerator Kitchen is a complimenting space and “next stage” for culinary graduates and entrepreneurs from the Center’s Incubator Kitchen. This space was a former barbershop that required asbestos abatement, wall and mezzanine demolition along with saw cutting the floor for new underground utilities before the buildout and equipment installation could occur.

  Graphic Packaging International

  

  WIELAND was awarded the largest project in company history in September, 2019 by Graphic Packaging International in Kalamazoo, MI. The new build consists of four buildings totaling 350,000 SF. These buildings include: a mill; a corrugated container storage area; a boiler house, and a finished goods warehouse. The project is expected to be completed October 2021.

  Performance Proppants

  

  WIELAND works hard to turn new clients into repeat clients through excellence in construction. An example of one of these repeat clients is Performance Proppants. WIELAND has recently broke ground on the new Performance Proppants River Ridge expansion. The project is taking equipment from a defunct plant and moving it to Doddridge, AR. The project began January 2021 and is expected to be completed April 2021.

  Bekum

  

  WIELAND specializes in manufacturing projects, and one example of this is the Bekum American Corporation expansion in Williamston, MI. The development is an addition to the existing manufacturing facility and will total 40,000 SF. Bekum is a plastic blow-molding company with facilities in the US, Germany and Austria. The project began in August 2020 and is expected to be completed in May 2021.
