Bowling Green Metalforming, a division of Magna International, selected Wieland to construct their state of the art automotive stamping plant. The facility was completed in nine months. Wieland strategically coordinated the construction phasing with Magna’s equipment riggers to assure construction stayed ahead of the arrival and installation of the equipment.
Wieland’s scope of work included significant site work including rail spurs/switches as well as an onsite rail yard. Additionally the Bowling Green, Kentucky area has many sinkholes including the site of this project, where over two dozen sinkholes were remediated.
“The 1,000,000 square foot Bowling Green Metalforming project looks great!,” said Mario Pecile, Project Manager. “With the aggressive timeline and changes, Wieland did an outstanding job coordinating all activities by the subcontractors to meet the completion date.”
