Mt. Pleasant Library is a publicly funded entity and was founded in 1945. The library serves the city of Mt. Pleasant, TX and the surrounding Titus County area. The building contains thousands of books, designated reading rooms for visitors of all ages, and a garden. The library also contains a museum that focuses on the history of Mt. Pleasant and the Native American tribes that lived on the land.
Connected to the library is the Mt. Pleasant Police Station, where police serve and protect the city and Titus County. Mt. Pleasant Police strive to improve the life of the residents by creating a fair and safe environment.
The renovations of the two buildings were designed by Potter Architecture and WIELAND began construction on the project in 2010. The 17,700 SF addition to the library created more space for reading rooms and the connected museum. WIELAND also built the 2,700 SF police station addition. The construction on both renovations was completed in April 2010.
