WIELAND provided construction services for the Gestamp addition/renovation in Chattanooga, TN. Gestamp is an international automotive stamping company with a presence in over 20 countries. Gestamp specializes in designing automotive components that create safer and lighter vehicles in order to reduce energy consumption and their ecological impact. Major clients include Volkswagen, Renault-Nissan, PSA, Daimler, General Motors and BMW, among others.

This is the third project WIELAND has built for Gestamp, and the first of two projects WIELAND built in Chattanooga. The plant was designed by William A. Kibbe Associates and is a 270,000 SF  manufacturing center. Inside, the plant is fitted with state-of-the-art weld assembly technology and robotics. The plant will continue its cold stamping, but also added Class A stamping, hot stamping, and chassis component stamping to become a Tier 1 supplier for Volkswagen. Construction on the project was completed in August 2016.
