Christ the King Catholic Church is part of the Diocese of Tyler, and was founded in 1936 in Kilgore, TX. The Diocese spans 22,971 square miles across 33 counties and serves over 130,000 Catholics in Northeast Texas. The Diocese of Tyler is divided into 51 parishes, 19 missions and three pastoral centers.
Christ The King’s original plans for construction date back to 2011, but the first phase of the building was not completed until 2017. The new church was designed by Newman Marchive Carlisle Inc. and WIELAND completed the 7,500 SF church in April 2018.
The Pastor/President, the Very Rev. Daniel P. Dower, said of the project, “(I wish) to thank the entire team at WIELAND for your flexibility and generosity. I look forward to working with your company in the future and extend my sincere thanks for helping us get this project to the finish line.”
